Principal and Interest Vol.4
Principal
As some of you may have seen, our team has a new listing outside of town that is quite the eye-catcher. Designed with more of an artistic flair than a typical home, I’ve deeply enjoyed spending time at this house and noticing more features it has to offer. Being able to lean into the unique design of the home and capture that for people to see has been a great exercise in thinking outside the box. It isn’t your typical house and shouldn’t be marketed in a typical way. We work with great photographers and videographers and ended up being very pleased with the results (I am never thrilled with my own part however, but that’s on me).
In other news, I had a rental go so quickly that I didn’t even have time to make social posts about it. There was a ton of interest on the downtown condo. I’ve had other Guelph rentals that also garnered a significant amount of interest, and were signed soon after going on market. To me this really illustrates how strong the demand is for rentals in Guelph, despite rental rates overall dropping for the first time since July 2021 during Covid.
Interest
Closing in on the end of November, I’m very happy to say that I completed the goal of running 60km in support of Movember and men’s health. Over the course of the month the main thing I’ve learned is that I’m probably not a runner, but it was still great to set a goal and go out and achieve it. Currently I’ve raised $700 for the cause, completely surpassing my early goal set of $250. The support has been awesome from everyone, and I will be running it back (pun intended) next year. Who knows, maybe by then I’ll enjoy running!
Moving on, Leafs season is in full effect, as well as my own men’s league hockey season. Equally as interesting? No. Great way to have something to do during the winter? Yes.
On the reading front, I just picked up a copy of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road and am excited to give it a read once I’m through Matterhorn, which will happen hopefully someday soon. I figured a change of pace between the Marlantes double might be good. Slowly but surely!
Recommendation:
If you haven’t watched Succession by now, you’re doing it wrong. We’re about halfway through a rewatch of the show and it still hits as hard as it did the first time around. Incredible cast, masterfully written, amazing settings. Add it to your watchlist pronto.
